Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 1, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Lociator. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
2. The Data We Collect About You
We rely on third-party services like Supabase for authentication and database management. The primary data we collect relates to your account and the URLs you process:
- Identity & Contact Data: Includes your email address, provided during authentication via Supabase.
- Target Data: Includes URLs you submit for crawling, extracted page titles, and the internal link graph of the processed websites.
- Usage Data: Includes the number of pages crawled, max depth, API limits, and subscription tier usage.
3. How We Use Your Data
We will only use your data to provide our services. Specifically:
- Internal Link Visualization: Crawled URLs and link relationships are mapped to generate visual graphs and compute architecture scores.
- Topic Extraction: Page titles and target URLs may be sent to Large Language Models (LLMs) to automatically detect and group content by semantic topics.
- Account Management: Ensuring your usage stays within the limits of your selected subscription tier.
4. Third-Party Sub-processors
Lociator relies heavily on modern infrastructure. Your data may be processed or routed through the following third parties:
- Supabase: For secure authentication and graph data storage in PostgreSQL.
- Cloudflare: For website hosting, CDN, firewall protection, and edge API routing.
- Upstash (QStash): For reliable queue management and delivery of your crawl jobs to our background workers.
- AI Providers (Hyperbolic & Google Gemini): For topic extraction. Crawled URLs and document titles are sent to these APIs. If you provide your own Google Gemini API key in Settings, it is stored securely and used exclusively for your requests.
5. Data Retention
We limit the amount of crawl history stored based on your subscription tier (e.g., Free accounts retain the last 3 crawls). When you exceed your history limit, the oldest crawl data—including all associated pages, links, and metrics—is automatically and permanently deleted from our database to make room.
6. Contact Us
